Hot Water Music tried to part ways in 2006, but it didn’t work. The projects they pursued lacked the pure energy and emotionally volatile songs that Hot Water Music had became known for. As such, their announcement of a reunion in 2008 came as a welcomed surprise to punk fans the world over.

On May 18, Hot Water Music will release ‘Exister’ in Australia and New Zealand through Rise/Shock, their first new album of new material since 2004.

The first single cut from the record, “Drag My Body” arcs back to Hot Water Music’s renowned tight punk sound – rollicking dual guitar lines and a driving yet complex rhythm section.  “Drag My Body”’s uplifting chorus is completely juxtaposed with dark lyrical themes – “Drag My Body is a simple story of finding oneself at a point of no return, at the end of a rope and teetering on the edge of madness with the realities of failure looming.  Just as well realizing the capabilities of pulling oneself up from those obstructions and simply carrying on.” – Chuck Ragan says of Hot Water Music’s new single.
