Mesmerizing and energetic LA-based Vintage Trouble
put the soul back into rock

VINTAGE TROUBLE release THE BOMB SHELTER SESSIONS via SHOCK RECORDS, 27 JANUARY 2012 to coincide with their first Australian tour tour.

Live-wired, straight-shootin, dirty-mouth’d pelvis-pushin’ juke music, Vintage Trouble, based in Los Angeles, is the brainchild of Ty Taylor (vocal) and Nalle Colt (guitar). Combining their love for original soul and rhythm & blues, the two set up a basic home studio in Venice Beach and started crafting the beginnings of Vintage Trouble. Already a friend of both, Rick Barrio Dill (bass) came along and added his shared bass influences and energy into the newly formed project. To make the band complete, Richard Danielson (drums) was recruited not long after to add the authentic and edgy take that was needed on the drums. With these collective energies and inputs in place, a new kind of soul band had been born with unlimited creativity and force.

Within two weeks of rehearsals in early 2010, the group quickly began playing local shows and late night speakeasies. Led by timeless vocal tone and presence, small tweed amps, and a mission to move as many people as possible, the band quickly gained a reputation as a high energy and truly mesmerizing live act whose performances feel like down-home revivals with an uptown edge. Sticking to their roots of mid-century original soul music and recording techniques, the band used a lean three-day recording session with full takes and no-frills to turn out 10 new songs a mere two months into the project. With singles like “Gracefully”, “Nancy Lee”, “Still & Always Will” and “Blues Hand Me Down”, the resulting sound brings you back to the days of vinyl records, sweaty juke joints, and the feel and essence of the original soul movement.

Legendary and iconic band manager Doc McGhee, responsible for the careers of Rock and Roll giants, Motely Crue, Bon Jovi and Kiss to name but a few, took an early interest in Vintage Trouble and consequently signed them to his ever impressive management roster.

After three shows in the UK in early 2011, the band returned in April 2011 to appear on Jools Holland’s late night TV show Later… with Jools Holland. WATCH IT HERE! Consequently the band became the 6th most trending topic of the day on Twitter, attained the #13 best selling digital album on iTunes, and had the #5 all around best selling digital album on Amazon UK, beating out both Rihanna and the current Glee (TV series) albums. Additionally, Vintage Trouble had the #2 best selling digital Rock album onAmazon.com UK, and the #1 best selling R&B digital album on Amazon UK.

Vintage Trouble joined Brian May and Kerry Ellis for a tour in early May 2011, and in June 2011 supported rock heavyweights Bon Jovi on every show on their UK leg of their The Circle Tour.

Vintage Trouble. Get into it. And be prepared for the awakening.
