Shock Records is happy to announce that Townsville-based singer-songwriter Kate Martin has just become the newest member of the Shock family.
Kate‘s new album, ‘Hand Me My Bow And Arrow’ will be released by Shock Records in early 2012. Taking over 18 months to record, the album is characterised by lush, complex instrumentation and percussion complementing Kate’s harp-like finger picking guitar style and dreamy vocals.
In addition to the 18 months spent on recording the album, Kate Martin has also been busily building her live repertoire, despite the distance involved in travelling from North Queensland. Kate has played alongside The Middle East, The Waifs, Bluejuice, Founds, Little Birdy, Hungry Kids Of Hungary and Ash Grunwald.
The gorgeous first single from the album, Apples, is already available on iTunes and for free download at Triple J Unearthed.
